About Company Reporting Service
In 1991 Don Lockyer, a Tax Accountant, decided a basic reference book for assessing share values in Tax Returns was needed. He compiled all the information he could find and published it under the name ‘Company Reporting Service’. Don produced and continued to improve CRS until 2001.
Since 2001 we have revised the format and expanded the content to ensure that CRS remained relevant and useful. Whilst doing so, we have always kept Don’s vision in mind: the publication was to be simple in layout and easy to read – a true ‘quick reference’.
What Don started as a booklet to share with his fellow Accountants in Sydney has now become known Australia wide.
As the number of companies registered on the ASX expands, so does the size of our publication: from a concise 28 pages in 1991 to around 60 pages in recent editions. In 2003 we introduced the PDF version and in 2008 the ‘CRS Library’ on CD was launched. With the decline of the use of CD readers, the CRS Library was moved to a USB Stick in 2013 and since 2015 Companies on the NSX are also listed.
We aim to provide a publication which is relevant for today’s Accountants so as information needs change, so do we. If you have any suggestions for alterations or additions to the information contained in CRS, please don’t hesitate to contact us. If we can feasibly incorporate a suggested change, we will do so.
We are grateful for the ‘Thank you’ notes we receive each year from our customers and heartened by their requests to keep publishing – that we certainly intend to do!
